GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SELF-USE
BASE OILS
MESSAGE CARRIER OIL:
Send health-enhancing deposits to the body through
massage using this premium quality carrier oil, safely. Slows down the rate of absorption of essential oils into the body. A great nourishing moisturizer. Responsible cautions: do not diffuse essential oils diluted with Message Oil. $14.95 (8 oz.)
JOJOBA CARRIER OIL:
Unlike common vegetable oils, jojoba oil is chemically very similar to human sebum. It is often used as an ingredient in cosmetics and personal care
products, especially skin care and hair care. It is relatively shelf-stable when compared with other vegetable oils. $16.95 (8 oz.)
HOW TO USE - BANDAGE
This method is used to help stop the spread of infection and to promote wound healing. Put the essential oil directly onto the dressing that will cover the affected area - such as Band-Aids (the fabric part), bandage or gauze. If the area is already dressed, put the essential oil on the external surface, provided the dressing surface is a material and not plastic.
HOW TO USE - BATH
Run the bath as usual, then add the drops of essential oil and swish the water around. Keep the bathroom door closed to keep the aroma in the room. Essential oils can be used in their concentrated form or diluted in a small amount of carrier oil. Diluted essential oils used in the bath are gentler to sensitive skin.
HOW TO USE - CLOTHES
Most essential oils will leave a mark on clothing, so only use this method if absolutely necessary. This is useful when in areas where there are many insects, especially midges and mosquitoes. Put the essential oil on socks or shoes, on the bottom of shorts or trouser legs, or on the collar, sleeves, or cuff of shirts, etc. To keep insects away from your head, wear a scarf or head band and apply the oil there.
It's also helpful for students who want to inhale a concentration-enhancing aroma when they're taking a test, to put the oil on the edge of a cuff and pretend to be rubbing an itchy nose!
HOW TO USE - COMPRESS
There are two methods that can be used with compresses. Always use 100% natural material, unbleached if possible. Compresses can be hot or cold.
1) Place the essential oil in half a cup of water, dampen the compress in the cup and place over the problem area.
2) Wet the compress, then apply the essential oils to the wet material.
HOW TO USE - COTTON BUD (Q-TIP)
Put the UNdiluted essential oil onto the tip of the cotton bud and apply directly to the affected area.
HOW TO USE - DIFFUSER
TRUessence is proud to offer its state-ofthe-art ultrasonic essential oil diffuser. Aside from cold air diffusion, it has humidifying effects and multiple settings to bring the plant kingdom into your living room. A must!
HOW TO USE - FACE MASK
Essential oils can be added to any natural face mask. The essential oil should be chosen depending on your skin type and the action on the skin you want to achieve - as a treatment for acne, as a general stimulant, as a cleanser, as a purifier, rejuvenator, etc.
HOW TO USE - FACE OIL
Use the same method as making a massage oil for the body. However, the Jojoba base oil is recommended.
